“I’ve only played solo so far (4 times), but I’m having a great time with Neom. The concerns with the disaster tiles seeming too mean are a non-issue in solo, and my other concern of too much iconography also turned out to be a non issue. I did look up some tiles my first game, but they’re easy to find at the back of the rules and 90% of the tiles just make sense once you know how the game works. So I’ve found the game easy to learn, Fairly quick to set up, and a lot of fun to play. Does capture some of the feel of sim city.”

“This game plays really well. It doesn't necessarily have any grand innovations, but it is satisfying and straightforward, filling that nice niche where unfamiliar people can jump right in, but more seasoned gamers can still have a satisfying time. I also really like how the cardboard pieces are thick and large - it is weirdly pleasant to hold and place the tiles. Also, it allows you to see what is going on in everyone else's city, which I greatly appreciate.”
