Although not a true dungeon crawl, I'd say it's safe to call it a simplified dungeon crawl. You'll be moving around the same dungeon as your opponents, but since each player is both dungeon master as well as adventurer, the same hallway that you pass through without a problem, may be a trap ridden hallway for your opponent, if you so choose to do. It's a good deduction game in a sense, since token placements are hidden and you'll only ever know of it once your opponent tells you what has been placed in store for you. It's fun, and not long. If you like the fantasy or dungeon crawl theme, then this is a nice light game for a quick duel with a friend.

This is definitely more of an entry level game. You are placing cardboard tokens on a map behind a screen at the same time as your opponent. Then you take turns completing your opponent's dungeon. You move across a grid calling out your coordinates so that the other player can verify what they may or may not have added to that space. I have been playing this with my 7yo and he loves the game. It's getting him interested in dungeon crawler style games. He very much likes creating his own map to beat me with and likes the character leveling aspect unlocking abilities as you progress. You can not unlock top tier abilities for all 4 of your characters so you do have to think about what you want to unlock. It is lighter and like I mentioned previously lighter in complexity. It plays fairly true to the playtime listed on the box. I would recommend this game for teaching dungeon crawler mechanics or if you are looking for a light 1v1 game with dungeon crawler theme. My oldest son (7) asks to play frequently.
