“I purchased this as an upgrade to my Pixel 6 (non pro variant) and although I've only had it for a few days at this point, the differences are night and day. The battery doesn't deplete anywhere near as quickly regardless of what I do, be it consume content on YouTube, browse the web, listen to music, record videos or take photos (astrophotography included) and so on, nor does it take as long to charge even with the exact same plug and cable that I charged the pixel 6 with. I also run it at 50% brightness due to the fact that the previous pixel phones I've had ended up with screen burn and it's still bright enough to properly see everything on the display, which is a bonus compared to the previous devices.
The camera upgrades are brilliant, as well. I no longer have to faff about with getting a macro lens to fit on the camera bump as it has a built in macro feature, the 50mp lens is glorious compared to the 12mp on the old devices, and of course being able to record in 4k 60fps or 8k 30fps instead of only 4k 30fps max is pretty nice as well.
The phone feels lovely in my hand, regardless of whether it's in a case or not, it doesn't feel much heavier or bulkier than the 6 does, and it seems to have less software bugs or issues at this point in it's life than any of my previous devices have.
If you're looking to upgrade from a pixel that's older than the seventh or even sixth gen and this mobile is available on a deal, I don't believe you should hesitate to grab it unless you're worried about your finances. It's just brilliant :)”
“Moved from a pixel 6 pro to the 9 pro XL . Screen pretty much the same size apart from the rounded edges on the 9 which I wasn't sure about, however it feels much more comfortable in the hand and the weight feels more balanced than the 6 pro. Performance wise, feels a bit snappier but the 6 pro is still very capable. Only went for the change of hand set due to the USB port on my 6 pro being a bit loose and some scratches appearing on the screen. I have used it for 5 plus years! Given the 2 year contract on this 9 pro handset I'm very confident this will be excellent for the next two years.”
