I've had heavy periods for 40 years (except during the years taking the contraceptive pill, but let's not go there!). From my late thirties, flooding through my clothes regularly, wearing night pads during the day, wearing two pads as back up while at work, wearing long tops to cover my bum just in case I leaked through jeans and of course waking up and having to put bed sheets and pyjamas in to soak before you rush off to work - you get the drift. Now in my early fifties (eek!) things have improved a little but the first couple of days I still bleed heavily. I'll be honest, it has dragged me down. So to say I was cynical about period pants is an understatement. How could ONE pair of pants cope with what 8-10 (super) pads would usually do in a day? Today is Day 2 of my period and I AM STUNNED, DELIGHTED and LIBERATED! OK so I know this sounds like some cheesy advert, but honestly I am blown away, stick with me .... I bought a pair of seamfree boy leg (moderate/heavy flow) and classic boyshort (heavy/overnight flow). Last night was Night 1 of my period. I washed my (daytime) boy leg pants when I had my shower before bed, put on my boy short (overnighters) on and woke up this morning to find the Modibodis had absorbed everything. I am simply amazed. Rinsed them out, my boy leg (daytime) pants were nicely dried and ready for Day 2. And here I am, at the computer finally able to type my review. I bought the pants in April and have been desperate to try them but with a cycle that can be anything from 20 to 60 days it's been weird actually WANTING my period heh heh! Anyway, if you've made it to the bottom of this review, thanks for sticking with it. I'm sure you have tons of questions like I did (does it smell and all that kind of stuff that probably nobody wants to write about publicly) but I can honestly say, no it doesn't. It was a bit "ick" at first rinsing the pants out, but hey I've seen worse. Usually in a pad, that goes into the bin, and then landfill.”
“I wore this in the morning at 10 am until 8 pm in the evening and there were no leaks (I wore it on my heaviest day). I still felt fresh and it didn't feel bulky like a pad. Fit was really true to size, it does stretch after one use and wash so make sure to follow their sizing guide for the seamfree style.”
