For me, I've always hated jamming things up there to stop the bleeding, but free-bleeding was never an option for me because of the risk of leakage. This product is amazing. First of all, the basics: this product works. Put it on, bleed into it for 8 hours or so, take off, rinse, repeat. It's really that simple. Don't have to go to the store every period or be stuck with several pieces of peeled plastic, or stack cotton up my vagina. Apparently, periods CAN be just this easy.
Second of all, the details: I only use heavy flow and these have lasted me from 6 hours on my most heavy days to 15 hours on my lighter days (that's more than the recommended time, but I'm just being honest about my usage). They wash easily and don't shrink after washing (I am very careful to follow the instructions). The black color is slimming and I don't have to drive myself crazy worrying about blood stains.
The high waist is the second best feature of this product in my opinion, aside from the actual function it fulfills. When I'm on my period, I get grumbling stomachaches, gas, bloating, and diarrhea. Lower waisted underwear cuts right across this sensitive tummy area or slips below it uncomfortably, making me want to rip the underwear off! The high waist doesn't punish my bloated stomach and is also super flattering - a very nice feeling when PMS makes me especially self-conscious.
