Unlike many dog crate pad fillers on the market, our wool inserts are nontoxic, 100% all-natural, and chemical-free. Wool is naturally thermoregulating, so pets stay cool in summer and warm in winter.
We only work with farms that have strict growing standards:
sheep are rotated amongst a number of pastures to allow vegetation to recover from grazing
we encourage alternative medical care to keep the sheep healthy with the fewest chemicals possible
no herbicides or pesticides are used in the fields where sheep will be grazing
to go even further, our wool is randomly spot-tested for harmful chemicals
wool from the sheep's bottom & belly are separated and sold to other customers
These inserts are perfectly sized for our standard crate pad covers.

“The material was so paper thin, my dog ripped it open in less than 5 minutes. The zipper on my second cover also came off in 2 minutes. This is my 3rd cover that came apart between 3 dogs. Love the designs. Hate the workmenship. Made for cats not dogs.”

Thank you for your comments. Based on the photo you provided there is clearly chewing damage on the zipper. As you know, a zipper is no match for a determined dog, but we'd love to know more about how the zipper "came off." Please give us a call at 510-238-8400 so we can discuss in more detail. As for the "paper thin" material, that is the encasement of our wool-filled inserts. The insert sits below our durable cotton canvas covers and isn't really meant to stand up to the normal wear and tear from dogs—that's the cover's job. :) We'd be happy to send you a replacement encasement. “The wool filling is so beyond worth the cost. Not only is it a more sustainable option, but it helps keep my dog cooler and so much happier in his crate. I also keep one of the beds outside of the crate and it’s the only one he goes to, so you know it’s good!”

“I usually don’t review products but WOW the quality of my Molly Mutt crate cover and bed exceeded my expectations. Both are clearly made to last with quality materials and stitching. My Akari likes to get away and be alone sometime, and loves that she can now do so with comfort and privacy. I was a bit out off by the scent of the bed. Out the box there was a very strong odor but I couldn’t figure out what it was. A while later I realized it was a barn smell from the wool. The scent faded quick and now you can only smell it if you put your nose right up to it. Will definitely be purchasing for my two other dogs as well!”

“This insert is not like the typical dig beds you find at the pet store or department store. It is much more dense and the pups seem to like it. Normally my dogs will not use a dog bed.”
