“The 3rd years in the Primary (Casa) room always read these to the younger students and it is a much loved tradition in our classroom. A great way to encourage leadership, peer bonding, a love for reading, and of course and understanding and appreciation of the diversity in our world.”

“I insisted to the director to buy this set, but when it came she and I were disappointed with the size of the books. It is very hard to work with it on group time. these book do have good pictures, fair info, but really too small for the price.”

“I love teaching geography and I want a series just like this, but with accurate information. These books have great photographs and just the right amount of detail for young learners. However I was shocked to find two photographs of walruses in the book on Antarctica (and 2 pages of text implying that walruses live in Antarcitca). Walruses live in the Arctic not in Antarctica. This may be the only error in this series, but I will not have them in my classroom again.”

Please note: This customer is absolutely correct-walruses do not live in Antarctica. We were very surprised when we received this review. Teachers review the content in all of our titles and we had hoped that we had not overlooked this error. We checked our current stock (and the set we originally reviewed) and there was no mention of walruses in any of our books. We sent this customer a replacement book and picked up her copy (originally ordered in 2010). Sure enough, her book mentioned walruses on two separate pages. Oddly, her book was not only from the same series it also had the same author, publishing date, and isbn #. We spoke with the publisher and it turns out that there was another version of this book (with walruses) that was printed at the same time but was never distributed. The publisher told us that they quickly discovered the error and they thought that all copies of this book were destroyed and never distributed. Somehow, this copy accidentally got mixed in with the reprint. This teacher was pleased to know the full story and receive a new copy. We hope this is an isolated issue. Please know we maintain an unconditional guarantee on all of our products. “These are great for working with elementary aged children. They have interesting facts and lots of good vocabulary. The pictures are meaningful and add to the content.”
