Children (and adults) are mesmerized by these adorable music boxes. We have several and we like listening and identifying the tunes. The birthday one is part of our family birthday ritual now. Good quality with a sweet nostalgic sound only a music box can provide. I like the see thru box so kids can see how it works. Plastic can crack if dropped too many times but still works fine. Requires some fine motor coordination so kids like the challenge. Most two and a half year olds can figure it out. But kids much older want turns as well. A bit awkward for lefties but we make do. I've given several as gifts and the recipients are always delighted.

The children love using these little music boxes in the classroom. I keep the "Happy Birthday" one with the items in my birthday "walk around the sun" basket. The child walking around the sun for their birthday celebration gets to play the music as he/she walks.

Grandchildren ages 6, 4 and 22 months love these music boxes! These are special in that unlike other music boxes which they love, they can actually see how the notes are played.

The little music boxes are wonderful; giving the child pleasant renditions of the songs along with the visual experience of seeing how the music is made. "I can play it myself". It's soft-sounding enough to be used in the classroom and does indeed use the same grip as the child is learning to use with a pencil.

Granddaughter loved it but at 1+ yrs Old. was a little hard for her to turn the handle. She loved listening to it when someone else turned it. She will be a le to turn it very shortly.

I haven't given it to my daughter yet, but I tried it out and found it cute, easy to use, and nice sound. I remember liking watching the works of the music box when I was a kid and think my daughter will find it interesting, too.

These beautifully simple, inexpensive items are magical. They promote calmness, motor control and aural discrimination. Most of all, they bring pleasure. Highly recommended.
