“We purchased these timers for use in our Individual Silence Game. We have the first timer in a small basket with a small card that displays a photo of the timer and the word "silence." A child can select the work from the shelf, take the work to a table, and watch the timer as he sits silently. The individual work was developed as a tool for the children to practice silence. Because of the added support, our group Silence Game is becoming more focused. We plan to exchange the first timer with the second, then the second with the third so that silence time increases. The timers are small enough to be successfully used by our youngest children. The passing of the sand is very clear. We like that the increased intervals of time are represented by a color. Children will be aware when more time is added to the work.”

“These timers have helped ease arguments about turn taking in our house. When a turn starts, we start a timer. The children can easily turn them over on their own, thus empowering them with the power, not Mommy and Daddy.”
