As stated above, I cannot fully review due to them being Christmas gifts.

Highly recommend this! Our 10 year old was frustrated trying to use a microscope but this is much easier for kids to use, gives a sharp view of things like a fly wing or bit of orange perl. I was very impressed....I would recommend it for all ages. And all at a reasonable price

My grandson received this for this 6th birthday. He's always wanted a microscope and this one is sturdy and perfect for little hands.

I received a Carson brand MicroBrite pocket microscope from Montessori Services as compensation for writing a blog post. The MicroBrite pocket microscope is a battery operated microscope you can hold in the palm of your hand. It uses an LED light and features 20X to 40X zoom. My kids and I have found it super convenient and very to use. Unlike our traditional microscope, this microscope does not require objects to be put on a slide to view them (although using slides is still an option). This allows us to view thick and opaque objects that would not be possible to look at under a regular microscope. The small size and lack of power cord makes the MicroBrite pocket microscope ideal for viewing objects around the home, classroom, or back yard. It is also lightweight and fairly sturdy, so I am not worried about my kids breaking it while they carry it around. This microscope will not give you the same magnification as a regular microscope that may magnify to 400x or more. So depending on your uses it may or may not provide what you need. But understanding the limitations, I have found this to be a nifty little multi-purpose microscope.
