“My new corsair arrived with a bad retract. A quick call to customer service and a video link up to show what was wrong. The representative had a new one on the way before the day was over. A couple of days later it was on my doorstep. Retracts work perfectly now.”

“The black plastic case is know to develop cracks on right and left sides. As the cracks grow, the trunions begin to deflect in the case and can bend the drive screw. Bent drive screws cause erratic gear movement and can lock up. The cracks can eventually grow large enough to compromise the down locking feature on the trunion. The gear will then catastrophically collapse on landing, leading to damage on the aircraft. Known issue. Read more on RC Groups. They are not too expensive so I always keep a spare pair on hand. Otherwise, the F4U is a great model.”

“I ordered a left and a right, I got 2 rights one was labeld left and the other right so they put the wrong one in the bag. So due to the holidays, I luckliy was able to pull the part that makes it a left and got it going that way without having to deal with the most likely situation of pictures proving it and then the delays of the shipping. Need to be more careful when they package.”
