“Radio works. A little more difficult for soldering. Make sure to heat the contact on the board enough so that the solder will stick to it forming the conductive joint needed.”
“Fun project. made a modification to the antenna input for a 75 Ohm coax connection for an amplified antenna and now I can receive stations that are 100 + miles away. I also was able to use the frequency output control to connect to my Elegoo kit for frequency identification. Next project is to add stereo circuit with SCA decoding”
“I love these kits and have made a lot in the past but this is the first I've done by Elenco. Hands down the best quality I've built before. Quality components and packaging. Fun kit to build and works a lot better than expected. I was actually pretty impressed. The only thing this kit has in common with the lesser quality kits I used to get is the price. Quality and low price. I'm buying more of their kits...”
“Great little kit, clear instructions and fun to do! Took about 2 hours to assemble, test, and has been working great since first power up. Add in a 3D printed case (can download for free from popular 3D print free item site) and you have a great little radio, and pride of having made it yourself!”
“I was quite impressed with the quality of this product compared to similar kits. The instructions are clear and come with a BOM. I was unable to get my radio to function properly even after going through the troubleshooting process and triple checking connections. The instructions specify using a brand new battery I only had two fairly new batteries which I wired in series to see if the extra amperage would help but to no avail. I will try again once I get new batteries. Overall this is a fun and quick little side project. I'd recommend this for people learning to solder but it's also great for novices too.”
“Built this with my 8 year old son. Fun project. The instructions also include a lot of additional information about radio and circuit theory and application. Stations tune in loud and clear.”
