“This is a great way for a young person to learn how to solder. It does require a good deal of concentration, and you will need a soldering iron, and stand. The directions will step you through the entire process. The directions are good, but not idiot proof, so you will likely need to give the youngster in question some assistance.”
“This was a fun project to so do with my son. I can't remember if it had all the parts that were to come with it. I think I had to use a spare resistor I had one hand. But It worked and was a good soldering project to practice soldering on.”
“This is a great first soldering / electronics project for beginners. The students in my class learn basic electronic theory, soldering technique and most importantly following directions and paying attention to detail. I highly recommend that the instructor inspects the students work at several points during the build in order to correct any problems as they happen and not when the entire project has been completed and doesn't work. Good soldering technique and following directions results in a radio that works the first time. The students are quite proud to show off their working radio when they complete the project. I would highly recommend this kit.”
