It could have a Introduction to electronics and a more detailed information on how the circuit ( and parts) works. Otherwise, it is just like Lego.

I bought this for my kid's birthday. She loves it. However after a few hours of her building project after project, one of the lamps blew. I understand this can happen, but $3.99 (+ $9 for shipping) from Roboshop for a replacement bulb is a bit steep. Only one I found on Motion RC. Just something parents should note when purchasing this toy.

Excellent toy rather than electronics.

I struggled to decide between this version and the one that comes in the hard plastic case. From what I can tell, the kit is the same. The only difference is that one comes in a heavy duty plastic case.I went with the standard box version. The pieces are in individual locations and snap in. I don't think the plastic case adds much for a home user. The one thing I didn't expect is that the pieces in this kit come in two trays. If the box is 4 deep, there are two 2 trays that stack on each other. This makes transport and stability just a little more difficult, but not enough to justify the price increase. There might be a few more teacher guides in the one with the case, but most everything you will need is online for free anyway.

My husband got this game for our kids, 7yr old son and 5yr old daughter. My husband found out about it while using it in his Technical school, Lincoln Tech. He thought it would be a great teaching tool for our kids and it turns out he was right. The kids absolutely enjoy making the electrical gadgets go. They enjoy creating light, making the fan propeller work, making a radio and hooking up batteries. Overall I'm content that they're learning about electricity. If they're all happy... I'm happy.
