“As I former teacher, I really notice when products have actual educational value. A lot of products try, but fail, because they are flawed or because they are not interesting enough to attract or keep the attention of the user. This is not one of those products. We ordered this for my nephew (whom I was homeschooling), as part of the hands-on science program I designed for him. He absolutely loved it & learned from it. It also helped him to realize the importance of science & that it could be fun. My husband, who has rewired our last 2 homes, also enjoyed it. I was surprised how interested he was in something that we purchased for a child.I purchased this product several years, & we haven't had the heart to get rid of it. I no longer teach in the classroom, and my nephew is back in public school. So, we don't really need it, but my husband & I get it out a couple of times a year & 'play' with it. It's just that interesting. This product kind of grows with your child. Because of the amount of pieces, there are tons of things that can be done with it - from the very simple to the more complex. If your child is very responsible, you can probably let them have a go at it by themselves. If, however, they are young or not very good at putting things away, I would have a specific area for them to use it - maybe where you can make sure all of the pieces get stored properly. It's a fun learning tool, but a few missing pieces could certainly limit the amount of 'experiments' that can be done with it.Excellent product. Happy with my purchase.”
“This product is really good. My daughter completed 40 projects on the day we got it and learned a lot in the process.The only issue is that the snapping mechanism (metal snapon) on two of the switches broke on the first day itself. She is still able to use the switch by snapping the broken part first and then placing the switch on top of it. Luckily, the company offers free replacements at [...] . So, I have requested for the replacement parts and hope we get it :-)”
“We bought this as a birthday gift for my u year old son. My husband is a Instrument Tech so snap circuits has provided hours of bonding time between the two of them. The instructions are simple enough for the kids to make circuits on their own, but complex ebough to keep my husband entertained after the kids are in bed”
