“This product had great potential with such promises but unfortunately the packaging didn't hold up to well in transit and the build quality isn't all that. Since this was a Christmas gift imagine the disappointment after within hours a couple of parts broke and I had to use packing tape to keep the box structure sturdy to hold the kit. The first item that didn't fair well was the green propeller for the first set of UFO instructions, the propeller is really cheap plastic and the mold looked like it had some excess plastic on it and there was appeared to be a small crack but I figured it was no big deal. One flight and it landed wrong and that was the end of that item. Replacements per the instructions in the manual for replacements off of the website are only $2.00 but it is $9.00 to ship it! The second item to not fair well (or maybe contents settled in transit) was one of the battery packs, as I was putting batteries in the unit the coil sprung out and while I can gently set it back in there it doesn't stay attached when one removes the battery. The connectors for some of the circuits also don't stay snapped together very well, it is like some of them have a little bigger opening than others. I have heard such great reviews about these products and some of the labs are genuinely cool (like the fiber optic labs) but at this point I'm not sure what to do as it is probably only 50% usable of what I thought we were getting due to the build quality. Again great ideas and I'm sure others have had better luck than me and I understand that all products are not 100% perfect all of the time but this was a Christmas gift and I'm feeling a little bit like we wasted some money here on this one.”
“It's a great idea, but poor quality control. We have had a number of pieces having connectivity problems (i.e. the circuit starts working when you press random connection points). It's not 1 particular piece, but a number of pieces and it's impossible to determine which piece is faulty. I e-mailed the company directly asking for a replacement, no one responded my e-mail. I called them number of times and nobody picks up the phone. I'm really disappointed because the reviews are great, product is amazing from an idea perspective, but execution is poorly done (at least in my case).The speaker also does not sound good at all, it is barely audible.Some of the projects simply didnt work (and this may be due to the faulty parts, I dont know).”
“I purchased this set for my 7 year old grandson and he loves it. The project instructions are very clear and promote reading and following directions. Teaches how electricity makes things work. I also purchased the battery eliminator which saves money on batteries.”
