“Purchased this kit to introduce a youngster to electronics and soldering. The quality of the iron and the project kit was very good. We assembled the project in a few hours and it worked perfectly. Halfway through the project, he asked what other kits can we get? I believe he is hooked.This is a great starting point to get kids, young or old, into electronics. The practice area of the circuit board allows for learning how to solder pads, jump across adjacent pads when necessary, and to correct errors when they happen. The solder removal wick was very handy when soldering the IC to the board to remove a bridged circuit error. They also force you to make a couple of jumper wires to complete the circuit...nice touch Elenco!Be sure to keep the manual after completing the project as there is some GREAT reference information contained in it.”
