“We had an adult with an engineering degree assembling this for our 9-year-old; the adult worked on it for over an hour and became increasingly frustrated until one of the fragile pieces broke and rendered the toy unusable. Only purchase as a gift for families if you don't care about their sanity!”
“This is more advanced than the description, very tedious with the assembly, the photo directions were not very clear took way longer than it’s worth. Having to change the codes on the Robot every time you would like it to do something different is a pain especially having to dissemble it every time I do not recommend”
“Bought this robot in Nov. of 2020. Gifted it to my child who had a hard time getting any of it put together. We knew we would would probably end up building it, but still though he might be able to help with more than popping out the parts from the plastic. Despite this and hours of putting this thing together he still love it. Each time you want to change what it does it takes a while to take it apart and assemble it with its new pieces. Again, still loved it. He played with him him probably 4 to 5 times a month. We are a few days ahead of thanksgiving 2021 and “Wally’s” (we named him) wheels have broken right off rendering him useless.”
“While I expected the Mechanical Coding Robot would fail to perform as well as the videos depicted, our experience is that the Mechanical Coding Robot did NOT work at all. My son put it together with great care and I triple-checked he had followed the instructions correctly and that there were no broken parts. Looking at the Mechanical Coding Robot in detail, I found the main forward and reverse mechanism is poorly designed. This experience was emotionally distressing for my son, so I wanted to warn potential buyers.”
“My nine year old son was so excited to purchase this with the money he earned by memorizing Romans 8. He is a very skilled little engineer. He has been thoroughly disappointed in the finished product, as it catches and doesn't complete more than two turns. It was also missing a washer that didn't cause the malfunction but still added to his frustration.”
