“While a nice idea, and fun to spend some time with your child (this unit is rated for 10+, please play attention to that, as it means older than ten for sure), this unit is cheaply made, and assembly is a slog while trying to follow the instructions. The parts themselves are attached via a modeling "web" structure, with the result that I had to repeatedly cut off portions of plastic stuck to them with wire cutters. The screws and springs for some reason do not come with extras, so if you lose one of these very small pieces the entire thing becomes useless. Then, as others have said, once you get it altogether it will turn for a few seconds then break. Regardless, at some point during the assembly process, either part of the unit itself, or a piece attached, will break. The parts are just too flimsy. I would rather pay for a much more expensive device that is built with sturdier pieces.”
“I like the concept of this robot but didn't like the material used to build the parts. Few parts seem to be built with poor plastic material that could break easy, specially not kids friendly.”
“When we place turning codes, the robot jams as it try’s to pass the wheel over the left or right turning levers. All parts have been double checked for smoothness without residue from punching out parts. Otherwise it works great. How do I fix the turning?”
“The box states there are over 200 pieces. They aren’t exaggerating. Got this as a gift. It took over 6 hours and, two adults with engineering degrees to get it assembled and operating without destroying itself. You have to snap all the 200 parts from their molds and meticulously trim the left over nubs. Any minute mistake or left over nub remnant will cause it to malfunction. Any interest in coding and robots is lost after hour two of assembly. Would not recommend.”
“My son was really excited to build his own robot and be able to code it but when it came down to coding it was missing several pieces. He wasn’t able to finish the project. It was a disappointment not receiving what I paid for.”
“None of the pieces came off the plastic sheet without cracking due to pressure. When we finally got the pieces off, none of them fit together, the screws wouldn't go into the holes, and the motor wouldn't run. Don't buy this, spend your money on something better.”
