Bought this for my 11year old grandson who is a talented builder. Even he got frustrated with these pieces and how light weight they are. Too much to get even one item together.

The instructions are terrible. I bought this to use for our Girl Scout Robotics meetings. It’s difficult to assemble and the plastic burrs make the robot inoperable unless you sand each piece down individually. The pieces come in a plastic sheet that you pop them out of and inevitably little pieces of the plastic stay on the piece. The manual says to file off these “burrs”. The motor didn’t work at first because of these pieces getting caught, now with the robot assembled, it will take a step or two then get caught on one of these burrs. We’ve loved other kits from Elenco, but this one is terrible. The robot is tiny, hard to assemble, and only runs on solar power. There is no way to charge a battery so in the winter, the robot was useless at our Girl Scout meeting since we didn’t have the sun to charge it. Even if we did, it wouldn’t have worked well at all. We had planned on using for homeschool as well but I’m tempted to return it and buy something that actually works.

Do not purchase this item. The engine is not powerful enough to turn the wheels. Spent about a hour putting the engine together with my son and put it under a light. It turned for a second then stopped and would not start again- very frustrating!! Junk!
