“The reviews that state this is a bad first "larger" jet are wrong. This is my first larger jet although I have tons of experience on smaller jets, and I've been flying 7 years. Unfortunately, the only day I could maiden this was on a 10 mph crosswind and upon the landing it pushed it over onto the grass area of my club's runway and it pushed in the wing tip a little bit. But into the review. It was a super simple assembly and it took less than half an hour for me. I used the included glue for the first body extension by the elevators but it dries really slow, so I used hot glue for all other glue items. After this, the radio setup probably took another 15 or so minutes, I was into it for about 45 minutes to an hour. Another thing taking time off is I chose not to apply decals as I wanted to leave my options open for callie-graphics sets. Her first flight was a little nerve wracking as this is the most money I've spent on an airplane in a long time. However, all worries flew away (pun intended) when it lifted into the air. It only took 5-10 clicks of trim but I could tell the CG was too far back at the 98mm as reccommended the manual. I made 5-6 test n tune flights and got it to a rock solid flyer. I ended up with 20% elevator expo and 18% aileron expo, 25% rudder expo to desensitize steering. I like the reverse thrust option and it sounds super cool, it sounds almost exactly like a real jet when they throw the spoilers up and reverse thrust. However, It kind of loses its effectiveness as the airframe loses speed, as the fan is more stalling air that is flowing through it instead of pushing it backwards, so it kind of has a point where it doesn't work as well, but still a great feature. It looks different in the air from what I'm used to with sport jets and my f-15, and just from holding-pattern shakedown flights I can tell this thing has insane ability. Overall, this thing is great and you need to pick one up today. Also as a note, people who complain about the nose gear staying stuck up, mine seems to have a really clever fix for that and I've had no problems so far. Pick yours up soon!”

“Well designed f-16 model with pretty full features. I particularly like the full-flying elevons. Nosewheel is a bit wobbly, recommend looking into this. An option for lighting would be nice =)”

“I have just acquired a 70mm F-16 V2 for use as a trainer aircraft for maidening a turbine powered Avonds´ F-104 Starfighter after the summer.I elected this model as I discovered the brand and was very satisfied with a 90mm F-15, and also I am able of using my 5 x 6S 5,000mAh Li-Po batteries I already have....Quality is typical of Freewing, with fine detail and the updated landing gear; I only miss the elevator to be full flying as the real Viper!I just found no trouble during assembly and set up, and with my large and heavy batteries I may reach the manual CG position without adding lead to the rear.Regarding performance, the plane takes off and flies beautifully, mine only needing some up elevator and just a tip of right aileron.I must comment that my plane seems to fly a lot much faster than those you may see in YouTube videos, and I mean 6S version not 4S ones! The only point I am unable of commenting after 2 flights yet is the landing. Yes, I made 2 flights bit not one properly landing! In the first flight I made a correct landing, perhaps a bit fast, but the plane veered out of the tarmac and got to the dry grass zone where it stopped abruptly causing some minor damage, mainly to the retracts legs. After a quick field repair, I went for the second flight which I greatly enjoyed but when I went for the landing, I discovered the nose wheel didn´t were there! I had to make an emergency landing again in the dry grass which went perfect except for some small scratches on the air intake and a broken belly fin.Now the plane is repaired and I just can´t find the moment for the next flights. As a note, the problem with the nose gear was the leg was just a bit bent that prevented correct extension in some conditions, as I had cycled the retracts quite a few times before the second flight without noting any issue. I have been able of repairing the problem myself without having to purchase any spare parts. By the way, RC Motion..... what about offering the legs-retracts connecting rods as a standard spare part? i am sure you should sell quite a few!”

“The freewing f16 70mm v2 is the best edf jet I've ever flown. I'm 13 and it is very good for a beginner 70mm edf jet. It is very forgiving because of the front mini conard type things. It can high alpha just as the overview says. Though it isn't very fast it is still a blast. Another thing I want to mention is the landing you may want to lower the throttle and once you get it down keep it straight because it will tilt over but other than that it is AWESOME.”

“I have about sixteen flights on her. I am quite new at EDF flying but this thing flys awesome. It slows down nicely for landings. I fly exclusively on a grass runway and it handles great in the short grass with both take offs and landings. I did have to slightly modify the front landing gear area so that the gear cases would not break. I have about 12 landings without a sign of stress or damage since the fix. Please check out review on landing gear for pics of fix.”
