“I love how it looked in the air. It’s so easy to assemble. New lights and landing gears are great. The new painting scheme is astonishing. The front gear doors could comes of easily which is good to be popped off instead of breaking something inside. It would be very nice if you had a separate receiver stand on top of the power board. I had to build my own. Landing the aircraft was easy even being my very first EDF Jet. The best thing about it is the swoosh sound as you do low and fast passes. I could hear it all day long.”

“Ik ben altijd heel erg sceptisch over vliegen op batterijen maar dit toestel heeft mij echt op andere gedachten gebracht! Echt een ontzettend leuk toestel!!”

“This is my second new jet from MRC. Both came with defects I had to repair before I could fly. The Avanti V2 is a really good looking kit and easy to assemble. The Avanti V2 had servo issues - this means tearing up the decals and pulling out servos. MRC was good enough to send the servos and a decal set - appreciated that. I think this will be a excellent jet for someone with good flying skills.”

“Right out of the box this thing flew exceptionally well. I did adjust the length of the pushrods on one aileron and the flaps to get them even, but that could have just been my radio settings . After a careful assembly and measuring of the surface deflection it flew amazing right out of the box without any trim whatsoever. If you aren’t used to a super fast roll rate I would be careful with the aileron rates, the book calls for 100% at high rates. I have my high rates at 80% and it is extremely fast , definitely need some expo. For a maiden I would definitely not go above 80% on the ailerons personally. I did most of my flying on 60% and it still had very good roll without being too touchy . I have flown a few EDFs , but am not a good enough pilot to outfly this jet , will be a great jet to learn and grow as a pilot. Some people claim this could be a beginner jet , I would somewhat agree. I think if you have flown other fast airplanes with quick response and roll rates you could be fine , I don’t think I would go from a true trainer airplane straight to this . One of my main reasons for choosing this over something like the viper 90mm from horizon was the cost and availability of replacement parts. I don't PLAN to crash, but when parts are more readily available and affordable it makes it more fun to push your own abilities and try new stunts. I got this plane to develop my skills as a sport jet pilot, and after a half dozen flights i can already tell this is going to be the perfect plane for that goal. Another pilot at my RC club has one and he definitely pushes it harder than I do. One slight complaint I have is with the paint. While it does look great, I had some paint come off in two small areas where I had placed painters tape to help me with balancing. Ideally paint wouldn't peel off with painters tape, but its not a huge deal. They all get hanger rash eventually. Set up: a youtube fella by the name of "BD Tennessee" has a good video on the Avanti, and in the description he shares his set up rates and even AS3X settings. I followed his numbers as a starting point and was very happy with the result. Start there and tweak as you go. What I learned from my first few flights: 1. I am not a big flaps guy, in my past experience it was better to land fast and forget the flaps, as its a little on the breezy side at my field, but this plane with flaps on landing did great! I seem to prefer half flaps and a bit more speed on landing than full flaps and ultra slow landings, but thats just me. I did set up reverse thrust which works great on this plane, but I think it will be more of a back up plan. with a couple hundred feet of space and a good landing its probably not needed. 2. I flew with a Zee 5200mah pack pushed pretty far back and matched the CG marks on the bottom of the plane. It seemed a little bit nose heavy at those marks, but flew great and flared well on landing. As I get more comfortable and want a more snappy plane I will probably move it back, but the CG marks under the wings seem like a good place to start. 3. Take off- Just point her straight and throttle up. I have seen folks go almost full throttle and shoot straight into the air. I prefer to ease in a bit on my first few flights, gentle elevator pressure and she shoots right up. 4. As mentioned above, be careful with your aileron rates. I would not follow the 100% high rate the book suggests until you are really ready for it. I think you could get away with 100% on the rudder and elevator with a little expo, those surfaces were not quite as drastic as the ailerons. 5. on landing, I liked half flaps. I pretty much cut the throttle after my final turn, and glide her in. some small blips of throttle to manage descent and a good flare was all it needed. The gear can absorb some small mistakes with ease, and she's not prone to tipping like my F16. I wouldn't turn at full speed, but she's fairly stable. 6. Flight time. I had my timer set for 3:30 on a 5200 pack to give my self some wiggle room for a few go arounds as I learned to fly the landing approach. This seemed like a good safe time. If you are really in the throttle it can eat up a battery, but can be surprisingly efficient at lower throttle. I have heard people get up to 7:00 on a 5000mah cruising around, but this is a sprot jet, and it likes to go fast (or at least I do) Overall I am very happy with the purchase and would buy it again.”

“The lemon 7 receiver with gyro will work, but you will not be able to use both thrust reverse and the gyro at the same time. Your better option would be to get the lemon 10 channel gyro receiver.”
