“V2 has a more powerful and better sounding fan/motor combo. The paint is much better than V1 and the V2 jet just looks and flies better. My only complaint is that both my V1 and V2 both arrived with a crunched wingtip. Plastic wingtips or better packaging would prevent this.”

“The paint job on this jet is awful. The surface is bubbled on both wings and the vertical and horizontal stabilizers. For good measure, the nose cone paint doesn’t match the rest of the jet. I haven’t flown it yet but am sure it will fly great like the other two I’ve been flying for years. Freewing should not have let this one out of their shop.”

“My Avanti S V2 was delivered yesterday. Assembly was simple and went exactly as described in the assembly instructions. This morning, I did the maiden flight. A few clicks on the trim tabs and it was flying GREAT!!! Landing was uneventful. Successful and very enjoyable maiden flight!!!About an hour later, I decided to take it up for a second flight. Within seconds of lifting off, it started rolling to the right. While I was able to compensate at first, it kept getting worse and worse. Before I could get it back on the ground, it started a continuous barrel roll of which I could not recover. It wound up going straight in about 200 yards into the woods, just past a swollen creek. I will not be able to recover the remains until the creek level subsides in a week or so.While I would LOVE to give this plane a 5-star review, something obviously failed and took my brand-new plane out. Construction is great and the maiden flight was wonderful. IF the second flight had been as good as the first (and obviously future flights), I would have definitely given it a 5-star review. However, something was not right. Maybe a failed aileron servo or ?????This plane was beautiful and I really, REALLY wanted it, but now I am not sure what I will do going forward.I'll update this post once I can recover the plane, but going straight down as it did, I doubt there will be that can be salvaged.”
