“You'll need them. They are a sacrificial pin that saves other parts from damage. I got 10-12 landings out of the original, then the replacement broke on the first landing. I'm not at all new at this hobby and my landings are reasonable.”

“Its really great that these pins are available and available separately from the entire retract.With many other brands if you bend beyond repair or break this pin you would have to buy the whole gear or gear and retract assembly to get it, but with Freewing and Motion these parts are available. “The pin I received did not look like the one I saw in the picture. Instead of the pin having a e clip holding it in it has a lip to replace the clip which is better but you still have to take the servo halves apart, not that hard.”

“This pin snaps way too easily on grass. It holds up for the flare and touch down, but quickly shears upon hitting any field roughness. Each of them, three plus, has sheared between the landing gear strut and gear arm. I wish I didn't need this part so much. Since I have four planes with this connecting pin on the T-33/L-39 retract system, I also have several for backup in case there are supply issues. Believe it would hold up better if the metal quality were improved.”
