“I have just started getting into EDF, I used to only fly warbirds, and most of my warbirds, were purchased from Horizon Hobby, and I purchased my first two jets from them, but they don’t really have much of a selection for EDF’s, I was impressed when I started putting it together, really like the blue box, and the way all of your wing servos, were connected with ribbon cables, now as to why I only gave it 3 stars, I have learned from experience to always test all servos, and check all screws for tightness, so I took off the cover for the EDF, and that’s when the nightmare started, when I removed it, I noticed that it chipped the paint a little, so I went and got some touch up paint, but when I went to touch it up, I noticed that it just kept peeling, the paint wasn’t even adhered to the jet, if I wouldn’t have stopped it, I literally could have peeled all of the paint off of the jet, so I got to looking, and noticed where the canopy is, it was also peeling their, literally anywhere there was a edge, it would peel, I have painted enough foam models to know what they did, they didn’t clean the foam off, before painting the model, at the factory, so I called Motion, they told me to take some pictures of it, and fill out a form online, so I took pictures of everywhere it was peeling, so I expected them to have me send this model back, and send me a new one, but no they only offered me a $30 credit, I was furious to say the least, I spent $400 on this jet, and your idea of fixing it is a $30 in store credit, well all I can say, is this will be the last thing I ever purchase from Motion, I have never had a paint issue on any of my E-Flite planes, but any issue I’ve ever had with any HH product, they have always made it 100% right, it’s really to bad because Freewing makes a great jet, on the inside, and maybe this was just a fluke, but with Motions Customer support, treating me like this, I don’t ever care to purchase, another thing from them, but at least the jet flys great, I will just be repainting it, probably in six months or less!!”

“1) Disappointment - An eight-inch long gouge on the underside of elevator. As if, someone may have dragged a small diameter metal object or instrument (the end of a pushrod for example?) across the underside of the elevator(s). I will repair with some foam filler, then repaint the area with gray.2) Frustration is regarding the lack of clarity in connecting the electrics to the MCB-E. The manual and insert page? Poorly presented; wording of the instructions is just not precise or clear; I was never sure from the instructions that I was connecting things correctly. The video update by James helps - but requires the added, unnecessary, effort to review.”

“Very pleased with the L-39 Albatross. After setting all the moving surfaces at the neutral position, very little trim was necessary on the first flight. I did have to move the battery back a little to get the perfect CG.”
