“I bought this a few months ago but flew it for the first time on Sunday. Although looks really cool I am somewhat disappointed in the jet. I have owned a number of Freewing jets before and I have been happy with them. When landing this jet the front rectrac came dislodged and failed and also one of the mains. When looking at them I was able to fix. I expected better based on past experience. I mean I did not bounce the jet in. It came in normal, I certainly did not expect to have retrac issues. Another thing, and this affects me but maybe others. Since most of the jet is dark, I found it hard to see the orientation when pretty high so I covered the bottom of the jet with white monokote trim strips.”

“I got 4 flights with my F35 running a pair of 4000 6S batteries. After the 3rd flight I got the battery placement right and she was flying well. I think it was the takeoff of the 3rd flight off grass that the left main gear came somewhat loose. The 4th takeoff showed no signs of problems but the gear did not retract all the way. The landing was nice and smooth but the gear folded and no damage otherwise. Our grass runway is good just not great. The gear should easily go back in with foam tack and I hope it stays. I have not measured the CG but its well back of the manufactures recommendation.”

“Flew my first 6 flights on the F-35 Yesterday. I love this plane. I love my L-39 from Motion so I decided to try the F-35. It flies and lands great. I am using an Admiral 5100 Carbon which is heavy but the plane handles it no problem. It is incredibly fast and handles great. Once you get it into hi alpha with a little power on approach it is a pleasure to land. The control throws on the manual are not correct, at least for me. I read reviews that mentioned it needs less aileron throw and more elevator. That's what I did. The nose gear steering is way too sensitive. I am reducing that for my next outing. “Up to now with only a couple of exceptions my RC aircraft have been purchased from Horizon Hobby. But I recently retired and during the winter months I watch F-35’s fly around Luke Air Force base in Goodyear, AZ so I HAD to have a model F-35. I looked around and found very good reviews of the Freewing F-35 from Motion RC. Motion RC delivered my new plane early and I am very impressed with the detail and scale appearance. I prefer flying to building and this plane met my criteria and was very easy to assemble. The parts fit was excellent, all servos worked flawlessly, the electric retracts are nice and the 12 blade fan sounds great. One recommendation: have a Phillips magnetic tip screwdriver handy during assembly. Some of the screws are in holes about 1” deep and having the screw locked on the end of the driver makes it much easier to get the screw lined up properly. Dropping the screws in the holes and hoping they hit the right spot does not work!I’m ready for the maiden. I’ll be back to order more Freewing models in the future! I really want my favorite A-10 which has a training base in Tucson, AZ.”

“Great little jet but its very quick and gets small right away. My maiden was great, took about 400ft to rotate off a grass runway at full throttle, climb out was great plenty of power for this jet, i flew with 4500 Mah Lipos and after 3:30 min of flight I landed and tested my lipo and was surprised to have 50% left! my 2nd pack I full throttled and aimed straight down the run way and smooth rotate, climb was effortless and got to cruising alt at 50% and noticed the plane did a little rocking as other pointed out but it fly's great and fly's at about mph at 50% and 95+ at full throttle, its very quick. The sound is great no high pitched whine but a jet sound of a p80 jet engine! landings are smooth and scale with speeds up in the 30-mph range very smooth lander, I was nervous about the landing before I bought it but it is fine, nothing to worry about just fly the jet to the ground and in the last 5 to 10 sec high alpha on the elevator and you have yourself a nice uneventful landing. I like the jet and I have flown the Avanti and stinger 90 this one is a fun keeper! I might try a gyro so I can be lazy! just buy it and be happy! glad I did.”
