“This is my 3rd F4, so obviously I really like it, but the first in 8S. Love this aircraft, flies awesome and lands smoothly. Flies on the new SMC HiV5900 8S packs. The only negative is that it comes with decals applied and I like to do my own livery so had to cover the decals and prep the paint. Would've saved a bit of time with no decals. Additionally, the wood motor mounts were barely glued in, fell out when I removed the fan to install the afterburners, so make sure and check those mounts before flying.”

“I have coveted this plane for a few years and finally decided to pull the trigger. All went well till I received the delivery. The box had been badly damaged in transit. Motion we’re fantastically responsive and got me a replacement immediately. A lot of companies talk about caring for their customers… but these guys really mean it.”

“I found pilot Ryan’s review of this plane very helpful. I thought the elevator pushrod was too thin for a plane that flies this fast. I fitted a 440 rod and bigger ball link and Clevis. I also added epoxy around the elevator servo. It flew as advertised, straight true and easy approaches.”

“These are fantastic planes. Very easy to fly and this is my first 8s. Found the power to be spectacular. I re-did the livery. I would have left it the way it was but, I don’t like cookie cutter airplanes. I will say that the gray ghost livery is very attractive and FW does a nice job on their presentation. I was a little disappointed in the type of paint used on this particular plane. Apparently they used a different formula. In the past I could actually spray on the new paint and no problems, however, this time it did have issues. I am not sure why this happened, but it did. No big issue I just tested an area prior to painting the whole plane first. Good idea. All I needed to do was use 2 coats of MinWax Acrylic and then the base coat. That worked out just fine.”
