Since I opened the plane, I noticed the detail and quality. The best experience and without a doubt I feel that after painting it, it was what I was looking for.

OUTSTANDING!! From the build to the flight it was amazing. The build took minutes due to the stickers, servo horns, and linkages (save the elevator) all being installed right out of the box. My minor modification took some additional time such as removing the battery board to place the blue box and receiver under the battery. This creates unlimited room in the battery bay for sensors and 8s upgrades, if desired. I was careful to ensure all of my control surfaces were aligned and the maiden flight literally needed ZERO trim. It flew on rails. Awesome power due to the new power system too. The short wheelbase can cause wingtip strikes on landing rollout corrections; however, the installation of a nose-gear gyro ensures it tracks straight on t/o and landing. This product is a major improvement on the originally released models.

Been considering the 90MM Hornet for a while. Have 6 of the Freewing EDFs already and all of them are great flying and reliable. Decided on the grey Hornet over the Blue Angels scheme. Recieved the Hornet in perfect condition. Assembly was fast and easy. One problem I found was that the plywood mounting plates for the EDF were not very secure in the fuselage. Removed them and reinstalled them using epoxy. Otherwise all was secure. Prior to the purchase I did some checking on Hpbbysquawk for the Hornet. More than a few people noted that if you set th C.G. at the 88 MM the manual calls for the aircraft is very nose heavy. Most recommended 100 to 105 MM. I set mine at 100 MM and that worked very well for me with very easy liftoffs and landings the same. Flap deployment resulted in very little pitch change. The one thing that I had to get used to was the spring loaded main gear doors. On 1 landing were I let it get too slow into the wind I had a semi hard landing which the gear absorbed very well, but wound up breaking off one of the main gear doors. I understand the thinking to keep the gear doors light and simple without servos to close the doors when the gear is down, but they do hang down pretty low. Flying wise the aircraft handles very well and with the new motor and fan system it’s pretty fast as well. I’m still getting used to the reversible ESC after touchdown. So it’s another great jet from Freewing.

GREAT PLANE BUT THE FLAP SERVOS ARE FAILING. I HAD TO REPLACE WITH METAL GEARS WITH MORE POWER. THE FACTORY SERVOS ARE UNDER POWER FOR THE SIZE OF FLAPS ON THIS PLANE
