“This is the best foam plane I have ever bought. It goes together as easy as it can be. It looks beautiful and has a lot of detail. I say to all the other reviewers that haven't flown their plane yet to get out there and fly it. It is such a sweet flying bird. I bought the gyro version, and it is set up just fine like it is. I fly mine on the regular setting for wind deflection. I left the "level flight setting" alone and I will never use it. I use a 5500 Mah battery, and I fly 7 minutes and use a lot of power during the flight, and I land at 44% which is a good storage level. The settings are spot on, and I fly mine on full rate. It feels perfect to me. The balance is perfect on mine just like the directions say. There is plenty of room to adjust the CG and you should never need to add weight to this plane. Probably the easiest Mustang I have ever flown!”
“As a very dissatisfied owner of the competitive 1.5m P-51 the issues were well documented. I finally pulled the trigger on this one and maidens mine on (3-21-26) let me start with the scale details of the motion P-51 there is no other P-51 this class size with the fit finish and details of this bird. Awesome job motion, there is absolutely no bounce on hard surfaces when landing this plane. Gone is the nasty ground looping. I am getting 10 minutes of useful throttle on a 5000 50C at 70% throttle and higher. Awesome power this plane is such a joy to fly and land. If your looking for a large scale P-51 and had fear from the poor competition offering let that trauma go and get this plane you will not regret it.”

“The build design quality is on the excellent side of outstanding. Fit and finish are nearly flawless and the best I’ve seen yet on a foam ARF. The new design landing dear and gear door setup is excellent, the large scale wheels and excellent new design dampened struts are an unexpected and most appreciated feature.
Flight qualities are top notch. CG as stated and control throws are spot on for good handling. My maiden was ever so slightly forward of the stated CG but not necessary, though a good option depending on how you may prefer your models to “feel”. I’ve got my timer set for 8:30 with plenty left in the pack after landing (6000 mah pack). Handling and feel are light compared to some warbirds, with tame stall behavior. Good top speed performance and good vertical climb available for huge loops. On takeoffs and landings: Slow power ups and medium power takeoffs keep the toque and thrust easily managed and then more power is available once accelerating and flying off under control. Wheel landing techniques work very well consistent, bounce free landings. Well behaved for a P-51.
The price was a little high in my mind at first but after seeing the real upgrades and new equipment installed, I realize there is a specific reason for it. Yes it is still on the high end. Yet I am very satisfied after several flights and absolutely agree the model is a good purchase.
Side note. I purchased the gyro version. I recommend getting the $13 Bluetooth module (BlueBridge Lite) so you can use your phone with the FW app to make sure the switch positions on your transmitter will give you what you want. The last thing you need is an unknown mode or to not have the ability to turn a gyro off if it’s behaving incorrectly. That’s my only caution and it’s not the aircraft so much as a function in how a modeler sets their radio to interact with a gyro. I have mine set up to be on or off. I removed any switchable modes that introduce “trainer” or “coaching” modes. Those have no place in my setups specifically and could cause problems so I cleaned that up in the app.”

“I am a big fan of the Flightline war birds. This new P-51 does not disappoint. Engineering, fit, finish, function are all fantastic. I added a old Mr RC Sound and it synch's with the guns. Fantastic. My only gotcha was that the gyro can be put into off, gyro, and auto level modes so be careful with the set up.
