Great airplane, advance the throttle slowly to avoid oscillation!

I bought this plane a year ago and finally got around to flying it. Set it up and taxied on my 300' driveway to make sure that it tracked straight. Finaaly got a relatively calm day at our field to fly it. I was surprised at how lively it was in getting airborne. I think that I may reduce the rates slightly so that it isn't so responsive. I was overall pleased with the way it flew and landed. Slowed down more than I expected with the flaps lowered so you have to keep a little power to it until you flare while landing. I'm sure that I will do much better when I've flown it a few more times. I did have a problem initially with setting up the motors and binding it. I called Motion and they couldn't have been any more helpful. I did have a problem with 1 motor after the maiden, was binding. I called Motion and again they go out of their way to help you. They send me a motor to replace the bad one. Excellent service by them at Motion. Can't wait for the snow to melt and get back to the field for my second flight. Thanks MotionRC Team, especially Andrew who I've talked to several times.

Beautiful warbird. Easy to assemble and instructions were straight forward. Went with dual 4k lipo’s and not disappointed.

Assembly was straightforward and easy and the way everything is wired really helped simplify the assembly. On the maiden flight I was surprised at how much power was available on takeoff and how quickly it took to the air even without takeoff flaps. At full throttle the aircraft is surprisingly fast and with various throttle changes throughout the flight the batteries seemed to last forever. The use of two batteries really gave me peace of mind because if one battery died I would still have two engines with plenty of power to land on two engines. The aircraft tended to yaw back and forth a bit when I made turns using ailerons and elevator (due to the wingspan being very long compared to the length of the fuselage). Once I stopped being lazy and decided to make coordinated turns by adding rudder inputs, the aircraft turned and flew perfectly. On my first landing I used full flaps and was a bit late on the flare so the aircraft slammed down hard, bounced into the air and came down hard again. I was very glad that I spent the extra money to get the shock absorbing main gear as they absorbed both impacts very well. After that I performed all landings without flaps and the aircraft landed incredibly smooth each time. I discovered that the aircraft slows pretty quickly on landing even without flaps so they are unnecessary unless landing on a very short field. When landing you want to be very conscious about keeping the wings level as a prop (or two) could strike the ground if they aren't pretty level at touch down. Great scale looks and the only thing missing is the ball turret because it would have to retract like on the real aircraft so it won't hit the ground upon landing. A retractable ball turret would add to the weight and the cost of the model and it wouldn't be that noticeable when the aircraft is in the air anyway. I flew the aircraft at my clubs air show this year and it was a huge hit. After the air show I spent a lot of time answering questions from the fans about the aircraft. Overall I give it 5 stars!

Excellent model of the full scale Witchcraft flown by the Collins Foundation Wings of Freedom Tour. I applaud Motion Rc for offering these markings as I had the opportunity to fly on it and the B-17 and B-25 with the same markings offered by Motion RC
