Love the OV-10. Went together well and looks fantastic. Not a bad flier, trim work was pretty easy. My problem is with the retracts i purchased that Motion sells. They are made by XWAVE called RM-400-90 electric retract. They fail so many times I cant trust to retract them in flight. When they fail to extend I have to remove them from the plane and then they will work. Every time I reinstall them they fail on the 6 or 7th attempt. Usually one will fail. I purchased another retract thinking it was just the set I received but that didn't help either. I simply cannot get them to function. I would never trust them in flight. Right now looking to replace them with another vendor. Sent Motion an e mail asking what to do and was told to add a shim. Tried that and it did nothing to help. Bottom line they were a waist of money.

This was my second OV10 from Motion RC the first one was because I am Handicapped in a wheelchair had a graphic attitude adjustment when I tripped over my chair trying to turn around. It took three days to build. This one took four hours. The OV10 goes together fast with a few screws and is very well constructed. Looks fantastic and its is truly an addition to my 72 planes. how does it fly? like a glider on steroids good glide rate very reactive to commands and fast. you first notice it on take off this bird has the power to get off quickly and the weight to stay steady in flight. you're going to love it as I do, thanks to Motion RC for bringing this back. and it's cheap and easy on the wallet.

All the molded parts are fragile and crack and break just handling. Two of the strut screws were stripped Motionrc was no help. One of the retracts was difunctional, again no help here so I used different retracts. The fiberglass had some kind of clear coating that was flaking off. It took forever to get it all off to make it look good. Ignore their idea for nose wheel steering. Flies great

Spent a couple of months early in the COVID lockdown assembling this beauty. Even though it was flight ready in June 2020 it wasn't till Oct. 2021 that she took to the skies. Flight performance is outstanding, presence in the air is quite impressive, no bad traits. My completed model weighted in at 18.5 lbs and handles it with no problems. Excellent construction qualities throughout this model. Did have to build a rigid foam transport carrier for my SUV but that was worth it, I really love the Bronco and this Nexa version captures its character perfectly.

Its been two weeks since I ordered this plane. It arrived in short order and in good shape. Hats off to Motion and Nexa.I ordered my plane with the recommended retracts, servos, and ESCs. All items fit the plane with very little issue. I will be setting my plane up with 3548 790kv motors and 4S 4000mah batteries.The assembly took me just over a week with much of that time working out the wiring layout and component placement. As this is a twin boom, center pod style plane, there is a lot of wiring to install and manage. I used 10x18 extensions, 6x6 extensions, and 1x30 extension. I also had to make up a pair of power wires to run from the center pod to the ESCs mounted in the booms. All of this is identified in the front of the manual in the needed supplies area. It is easy to miss and some of the detail is missing in the actual steps in the manual. It pays to read EVERYTHING and make a plan.The plane is complete except from some finishing paint/trim work. I hope to get it out on the next nice day to do ground testing and tuning before the test flight.The all up weight is about 12.4 lbs. or 198 oz. (5625g)I needed to add 12 oz. of weight to the nose to balance the plane, even after replacing the foam nose wheel with a heavier low-bounce wheel. I also swapped out the larger servos for the rudders and elevator to lighter ones. I found no difference in balance with gear up or down. As you can see, my weight is about 3 lbs. lighter than the specs show. This is due to the specs are for a 6s setup. I calculated that using my 6s power system, I would add about 600g, which is still well below the provided specs. I may still convert if flight tests show that the added weight won't impact landing performance.Issues: The one big issue I had was with the landing gear struts. They are of marginal quality, very stiffly sprung, and just not up to the rest of the plane. I am currently trying to source some much better main struts. The nose gear is still a problem but is working well enough. I will either make a new one myself or find something similar from the jet vendors.Power system:4s 4000mah x23548 790kv motors2x 65a ESC as recommended by Motion2x 12x8 or 13x8 propsPower draw per motor is 40a with a rpm of 9600Total power is about 1250 wattsWing loading is about 33oz/ftsq. This is similar to many large war birds and should not be a problem. If you use the suggested power system from the manual (6S), the weight will go up about 1.25 lb and the wing loading to 35-36 oz/ftsqAdvice: LABLE EVERYTHING when installing the wiring. Make a plan on what wire will go where and how you will route it to the receiver. With retracts, I have 4 servo wires with one pair of power wires in one wing. I have 5 servo wires and power in the other. I am using at least 5 y-connectors in the pod to connect the servos. In other words, have LOTS of extensions and labels handy. Also, check and double check the functions of all servos as you install them. Check for direction and solid connections as you go, Having to undo something later becomes a big pain if you happen to pull apart an extension buried in the booms or wing.Lastly, I read a couple of complaints that this plane is a pain to transport and assemble at the field. Don't believe it. True this is a big plane with lots of parts. I've timed myself and I can assemble this plane in about 10 minutes and disassemble it in about 8 minutes. This is much less that it takes me to put together one of my biplanes. As for transporting it, not really a big deal. You need room, no doubt. This IS a 71 twin engine plane. What would you expect. It takes up less room than my 72 Gipsy Moth.Hope all of this info is helpful.

I ordered this plane two weeks ago. It arrived in 5 days ( great job Motion). Packaging was very good. I also added recommended retracts, ESCs, and servos.Initial impression is that Nexa has upped their game in quality and design. Happily surprised.Pros: Everything did fit with only a couple of minor issues. Anyone who has built a balsa kit or two should have no problems. Those who only have foamies may have some issues but nothing that should be a game stopper. This is a complex plane so think before doing.Cons:Instructions are adequate but are missing a few things. A little thought should get you to solution. The landing gear struts are a problem. They are lacking high quality and the shock springs are way too stiff. The result is little better than solid wires.There are a LOT of wires to deal with as you'll expect with twin booms and center pod. Take the time to plan out the wires and label everything. Have lots of extensions and y-cables on hand. I needed at least 10x18 extensions, 6x6 extensions, and 5xY- cables and 1x36 extension.I am looking for alternatives to the stock struts. Some of the turbine jet gear look promising though finding specs is difficult. I have the equipment to make my own but really don't want to invest that much effort. If necessary, I will make my own.Weights: (I have not balanced the plane so additional ballast may be needed)Plane with 3548 motors, retracts, and all wiring = 178.5 oz.2 x 4S 4000mah batteries = 410g x two = 820g = 14.5 oz ea. = 29 oz.Total weight, ready to fly is 207.5 oz., 12.96 lb.Wing loading is 33 oz/ft.sq.Plane converted to 6S 4500mah power system:Add 100g per motorAdd 200g per batteryTotal additional weight is 21 9z. Or 1.3 lbs.Flying weight is expected to be 14.3 lbs.Wing loading is 36 oz/ft.sq.For reference, a trainer airplane is around 20 oz/ft.sq.My first flights will be with the 4S setup with 12x6 or 12x8 props turning about 9500 rpm

An overview, The plane is beautiful. For the money, it was worth it. However, there are some things that fell short. I had problems with the soft metal on the pull/pull front landing gear. Because they didn't have spare parts I had to find someone local to fabricate it. I got lucky and found one. Motion service helped me with the fabricationIt should be rated for someone with intermediate skills. The plane fly's heavy, but performs well. It's not aerobatic at all. It's good to fly around, land and take off. I wouldn't put it through any paces. The biggest negative is theirs no spare parts. Been waiting for a long time now. I dinged up the canopy and can't get a replacement.The pull/pull wasn't available, so I had to fabricate it. I hope they manage to get this squared away, if they do then I'd recommend the OV 10.
