“Hi guys. I’ve been waiting months and months and months for NEXA F8F bearcat. It finally came in. I was excited ordered my bearcat got the bearcat opened it up to make sure everything was good. Missing the $300 Retracts. Called customer service and they helped but not very much. Martin said there is a problem on the website and that the bearcat does not come with the $300 Retracts. I asked for $300 to be put back on my credit card. So I could keep the bearcat and I will source the Retracts. But that’s not Martin came up with, he offered me $150 worth of store credit 50% of the retract cost. Well, that doesn’t do me any good. You do not have Retracts for this aircraft. Plus it was only 50% of the $300? So he sent me a return label to send the aircraft back to you guys. very disappointed. I would have liked to kept that aircraft. I have spent thousands and thousands of dollars at motion RC always been great? good products good people but not this time. I hope you have changed your website cause I’m sure there’s a lot of guys who are very disappointed that their aircraft does not come with Retracts.”

“I bought this aircraft used from a club member. The landing gear were not installed well but I was able to repair. This plane is a great flyer, very aerobatic, fast and lands like a dream. It has become one of my favorite go to Warbirds to fly.Highly recommend this kit!”

“This is final post for this plane, finishing up and first flight.To balance the plane, I needed to add 28oz. to the nose. I expected this and required a bit less than I thought would be needed. For power, I am using the Admiral GP26 with 10S 6000mha battery. The prop used is the APC 17x10E.The test flight went very well with no issues. The takeoff was smooth and predictable. I found no bad habits and stalls were uneventful. Landing with full flaps was easy and even floated a bit. Great result!There were a couple of thing worth noting. The Benchcraft wheels I used turned out to not be robust enough for this weight of plane. I will look for alternatives. The modifications I did to the gear struts were successful. This required a complete tear down, cutting the spring by 8mm, and polishing the pistons so they moved freely.With all of this said, I can recommend this plane to others. It needs building skills and at least an intermediate flying skill. It is not really for someone who has not built at least a couple of kits (not ARFs or foamies). However, the assembly was not hard but needed work to get things to function properly (at least for me).Ron”

“This is the second installment of my review. After two weeks of work, the plane is complete but not flight ready yet. I still need to lock tight everything, balance it, and set it up on my main transmitter.Issues: Landing gear needs a lot of work. Gear doors don't fit, struts are way too stiff, and the wheels are cheap. Robart Robostruts would be my choice but are $140 USD for a pair, maybe later. I replaced the wheels with Benchcraft. These are a great choice and inexpensive. They require some changes and a bit of work to make them fit correctly. The design of the inner gear doors sucks. I wanted them on the plane but I suspect they won't last too many trips to the field as they are mounted to the fuselage and just hang out in the open. They are way to vulnerable so they are easy to catch on things. I will likely cut them out when damaged. A shame as they add to the scale looks.Another big issue is the rudder controls. You are provided a heave duty push rod but it links to a very weak wire that makes 2 90 degree bends into a hole drilled into the rudder. This part is the same thing one would use on a .40 size plane, not a giant scale warbird. It is so bad that I can deflect the rudder back to neutral while holding full deflection on the radio. I will have to work out something. For now, it will have to do as the plane can fly with this issue.The last issue I had is with the canopy/hatch. The hatch was built with a warp and I had to do a lot of sanding/cutting to get it to seat but with gaps at several spots. I built a spring latch to hold it on so getting to the radio and batteries is easy and fast.Other than these issues, it is a good plane.
