Bought 3, 2 worked. Had the same issue that two other reviewers had (side note, why would you give four stars to a defective product?). Anyway, I had bought all the supplies for an ARF in advance, so when I got to installing the retracts, it was outside the 30-day window and MotionRC said not our problem.

Trying to put this in my OV-10 and having multiple problems. They will work fine when not installed but as soon as I install them in the proper location it’s intermittent at best. Most of the time one of the mains will stay stuck in the up position. I have not been able to maiden because I still don’t trust them to work. I have tried rotating the strut 180 degrees as mentioned in a previous post and it seemed to help but after a couple of attempts it went back to intermittent. At a complete loss for what to do to fix.

Bought 3. One cycled right about 10 times; after that, stopped intermittently EVERY SINGLE TIME, up or down. Has not worked correctly since. Now have zero confidence in the others. Now need to either buy one, at 3 x the price of standard retracts, or abandon the other 2 as plane requires 3.

Having the same issue as a previous writer. The retracts seem to get stuck for lack of a better word. When I loosen the hold screw at the bottom of the shaft it seems to work. Going to try to rotate the strut as described and see if it works. Its on the brand new OV-10 now I am afraid to fly it wondering if the gear will come down when I really need it.

This is an over the top retract. Metal and not plastic. Very high quality and I would highly recommend it.

I really don’t want to call this a bust or a winner. I received the recommended 3 pack for my Bronco, bench checked em for functionality without the struts. They all worked swell. Then I installed the struts and repeated the swing test again. They retract perfectly, but one gear would not extend. I fussed w it for a bit and discovered that for what ever reason, by just tightening the grub hold screw to secure the 5mm shaft in place the gear motor would “amp out” (as designed by the way) and not extend. BUT, when I loosened the grub, the motor worked fine. Hmmm?? I swapped gear legs w another strut assembly and the same anomaly occurred. I messed w everything I could think of, including a call to Motion. No real help that I hadn’t already done. (Thx Martin). THEN, I decided to rotate the strut shaft 180 from the factory assembly which was basically turning the knee action spring around and that also placed the strut grub screws on opposite sides and AWAY from the gear motor. Reinstalled the strut in the gear motor and bench tested it again…this time it worked fine. . I have since swung the gear about 20-30 times without a failure. But I guess I’ll really know if I solved the problem when I maiden this week or pile this junk in from a gear up landing. We shall see

Great retracts l have bought 2 sets now and they are the best. I fly large scale warbirds and I trust them to work every time. I highly recommend these Xwave retracts.

After some modification to adapt it to nose wheel steering, this retract is faster and smoother by far than the original. Test flew it today and it is like butter compared to the original and far stronger. I also noticed the circuit board has been sealed perfectly against water and wet grass intrusion which was a real bonus and gives great piece of mind.
