I have only had the wok for a few weeks and am disappointed that the bottom has suffered from my use of a bamboo ladle to stir the vegetables. Not sure if the coating has worn off and if its still ok to use, or if I have to oil it with each use. Disappointed.

Thank you for your feedback, Joan. Based on the photo, the spots visible on the cooking surface appear to be remaining areas of the factory-applied food-safe silicone protective coating. This coating is applied to help prevent oxidation/rust during shipping and storage and is not intended to function as a permanent cooking coating. As the wok is used, this protective layer will gradually wear away or can be scrubbed off during cleaning and seasoning. This is normal behavior for traditional iron cookware and does not affect the usability of the pan. We recommend continuing the seasoning process with oil during cooking and lightly oiling the pan after cleaning, similar to cast iron cookware. Over time, the wok will develop a more even natural seasoning layer through regular use. Thank you again for sharing your experience.

Should come with a cover because otherwise we need to spend time looking on-line for one and hoping it will fit and not have to be returned for another.
