My Asahi Rubber Cutting Board is a perfect complement to our Japanese knives. My husband and I are no longer apprehensive about prematurely dulling our blades. The extra large size accommodates any kind of raw or prepared foods we cut. Great service, great product. Thank you MTC!

Nice cutting board, very large so makes life easy and have it permanently located on the counter next to my cooktop. The real benefit of these types of boards I suppose is that it keeps your knife blade sharper for longer compared to harder cutting surfaces like plastic and wood. I’ve only been using it a few weeks now so can’t speak to that, but it certainly is softer than those other cutting surfaces. I give it a 4 star rather than 5 because it is kind of hard to get used to. There is a bit of “blade grab” that makes my preferred cutting style more challenging. I like to rock my blade on the surface with a back and forth motion but that is tough to do on this surface as the blade sticks to the surface a bit vs a wood, which is smoother and easier to do a quick rocking motion. I knew this was going to be the case when I bought it and am still just in the process of getting used to it. It makes finely chopping things like garlic a bit more of a task. All that said, I am getting used to it and learning to love this cutting surface. MTC kitchen did a good job of responding to my questions and the board was delivered on time. It’s expensive buying from them with the added shipping costs (I’m in London), but they seem to be one of the only reliable distributors to get these cutting boards from outside of Japan so I appreciate that and think they are a top notch shop.

This board works very well. It is easily cleaned, it gently holds items in place. It is stout but not too haleavy. Most important is that it is easy on your sharp expensive knives!
