“I got some Japanese steel but after a few uses the blades began to dull. Started researching and realized my cutting surface was the issue which led me here. This size of cutting board is very large but still accomadates home use. Just be sure it will fit in your stoage space or you may need something a bit smaller. The surface is awesome for those extra sharp knife edges and protects those edges from premature dulling. Due to its size it does not slide or shift on prep surface. Food items being cut do not move or shift either. Cutting board was well made and had zero defects in workmanship or quality. Shipping was quick and delivered timely. The box containing item was packed and protected. This cutting board should last a very long time and shows zero signs of use (cut marks) after usage. Very pleased with the look, purchase and performance.”

“I have several "nice" knives. I do my best to take care of them. This includes being cognizant of the cutting surface. The Hasegawa came very highly recommended. The recommendations were well earned. The board has enough weight to stay planted, but not so heavy as to be encumbering. The 1 x 2 size works perfect for my needs, offering an ample work space without being too big. And finally, the surface is definitely what I had desired, being solid enough to handle a sharp knife without ruining an edge.”

“Great cutting board, fantastic size and exceptional for working on things like fish. This is NOT a rubber cutting board, but has a soft plastic surface (softer than the plastic on the rim), but otherwise a really nice board to have and great on your knives.”

“I love this cutting board. It's the perfect size. You have room to cut and still push some of the things you've cut to the side without them falling off the board and onto the countertop. It's soft, but not too soft, and is excellent In helping maintain the sharp edge of all my knives, especially my Japanese knives.”
