“Attracted by my past purchase of a Squier fretless Precision Bass I bought the Telecaster thinking I would just sit down and play it. Unfortunately there is a problem with the sound which I cannot pin down - on the higher end of the fretboard I get a 'slap' from the strings if I am at all aggressive. Should have hung out and bought a US or MIM Fender Telecaster. The Precision by the way was made superb by adding a KickAss hi-mass bridge and a set of Fender 58's. I was also attracted by the Bullet thru body stringing but from further reading it would now appear the Affinity may have been a better buy in terms of quality. I also have found the fret ends are rough finish. I thought it might be the strings causing the slap issue but they appear to be a good quality set of Fenders.”
