The Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission requires ID tags to be attached to each recreational saltwater crab and fishing trap (up to a maximum of 5) to identify the owner.Get your set of 5 serialized rust-proof customized Crab Trap (or shrimp, or pinfish) tags for $19.95! They are slotted on both sides and include UV resistant nylon Zip-Ties for firmly attaching to your trap.? As of Jan 1 2020 the FWC requires recreational fishers age 16 and older (including those normally exempt from needing a license) to complete an online registration form before deploying crab traps. Each applicant will receive unique trap registration numbers that must be included on each trap along with the owner’s full name and address. Registration numbers for Blue Crab traps begin with B; and Stone Crab traps with S. The information must be legible and be permanently attached to each trap on a saltwater proof tag.? The FWC also requires ID tags for shrimp traps, with the harvester’s name and address, although an ID number is not required.? The FWC does not require ID tags for pinfish traps, however they do recommend it in case someone else finds or steals your trap.MyDogtag.com is neither affiliated with nor endorsed by the FWC. Metal dog tags in Salt Water not really the best idea. If they were stainless it would be better but they are not. Plastic would be best if they were a bit larger but I have yet to find any. These will do for now but I will continue to look

Hi Michael, As stated on our website our crabtrap tags are indeed made of military grade 304 STAINLESS STEEL and will not rust in saltwater. We have been providing these to hundreds of Florida crabbers for over 2 years and have not had a single complaint If you have photos or evidence to the contrary please share it with us so that we can investigate. Here is an irreverent video showing how our stainless steel tags are corrosion resistant: https://www.youtube.com/watch?reload=9&v=4swD8c7ufj4 Please consider revising your review after you have tested them for yourself, thanks.

First, they seem to be well made. Second, they were delivered in half the time quoted. That is always fun. I just put them out with my traps this week. We'll see how they do, but I have every expectation that they will hold up. I screwed mine to the traps rather than using the zip ties, one thing better would be if it had screw holes. Not a big deal.

Hi Chuck, thanks for your feedback and for sharing your photo. We actually do have tags with 2 screw holes instead of slots for zip ties, however the holes take up more space than the slots which eats into the already limited space for the address.
