U.S. Navy (USN) format Dog Tags, replicas based on the 1975-2015 regulations. Made from mil-spec embossed stainless steel.Use as a replacement or spare for regulation issued set. This format is for sailors who were issued tags between 1975 to 2015 using a Social Security number. This was eventually replaced in 2015 with the DoD ID number (EDIPI) (which we offer as Modern Issue Dog Tags). The U.S. Navy no longer issues Dog Tags to its sailors, however you can still order replica mil-spec tags as replacements from us. Read more about the history of US Navy Dogtags.Unlike the army and USMC, the Navy generally only used 3 lines on their tags and fit more characters on each line. The rolled edge of the tag was often on the underside. Depending on the issuing base dogtags were either Embossed or Debossed as machines were replaced over time, we offer both options below (but Embossed is easier to read). Mil-Spec Matte Dog Tag Stainless Steel Dull 2D Finish. Most popular Dog Tag, choose this if unsure. Hole and rolled edge can be re-oriented. Complies with military specifications. Embossed or Debossed with customized text. Stainless Steel Long BallChain Mil-spec dull finish long ball-chain necklace. Made in USA. Military Spec. Includes optional silencers.

The dog tags are great. I have them around my neck right now and I dont plan on taking them off. These are my mom's dog tags and she passed away 5/24/26. She was active Navy for 6 years and reserved Navy for 14years. We couldn't find hee original tags except for her red one that was issued for allergies.

I had lost my dog tags and was feeling nostalgic. I am wearing them right now and love them! Thanks for the rubber rings to stop clanking lol. When I was in the Navy we had to buy them at the commisary if we wanted them lol. I also love having them for my blood type and religion in case I am in an accident.

I had to tweak a few things, ie. use "BP" instead of "BPOS", remove "." after the middle initial, and start the text on the second line, but the tags I received are an exact reproduction of the set issued to me at NRTC Great Lakes in 1987. My only complaint is the chain is thinner than an original and one of the balls broke off the first time I disconnected the clasp.

Hi George, thanks for your feedback and you military service. Our 304 stainless steel chains are made in the USA and comply with modern military specifications. It is possible your chain is defective and can indeed send a replacement. If you want a thicker chain, we do offer chains with bigger beads, which were more common in the 1940s see here for details: https://www.mydogtag.com/gear/fasteners/metallic-long-ball-chains/stainless-steel-wwii
