Botanical Name: Nymphaea caeruleaOrganic Status: Organic Country of Origin: ThailandPlant Part: FlowerForm: Cut
Discover the tranquil and captivating beauty of the Organic Blue Lotus Shredded Flower. Sourced from the serene waters of organic farms, the Nymphaea caerulea (Blue Lotus) is renowned for its striking blue petals and soothing properties. Revered for centuries in ancient Egyptian culture, this sacred flower has been cherished for its spiritual significance and calming aroma. Our premium organic blue lotus flowers are sustainably grown and harvested by a small farmers alliance in Thailand. They are naturally sun and air dried without the use of harmful chemicals, to maintain their vivid colour and delicate fragrance, ensuring a high-quality product for your herbal infusions, teas, and wellness rituals.
Uses and Benefits:
Herbal Tea: Steep the shredded flowers in hot water for a calming and aromatic herbal infusion. Blue Lotus tea has a naturally floral, slightly sweet flavour that makes for a relaxing, stress-relieving drink.
Aromatic Rituals: Incorporate blue lotus flowers into your meditation or relaxation practices. The calming properties of the flower make it ideal for creating a peaceful atmosphere during your yoga sessions or evening rituals.
DIY Skincare: Blue lotus can be infused into oils or added to homemade skincare products such as bath salts, lotions, or facial masks for a touch of luxury and calm.
Culinary Uses: Although rare, blue lotus petals can be used in certain desserts, syrups, or as a garnish to add elegance and a subtle floral note to dishes.
Traditional Uses:The blue lotus flower has been used for centuries in various cultures, particularly in ancient Egypt, for its symbol of rebirth and tranquility. It is believed to promote a state of relaxation and inner peace. While we refrain from making health claims, Nymphaea caerulea is celebrated for its calming qualities, often used in rituals and to aid in stress relief.
Recipe Ideas:
Blue Lotus Tea: Steep 1-2 teaspoons of cut blue lotus flowers in hot water for 5-7 minutes. Add a bit of honey or a slice of lemon for extra flavour.
Blue Lotus Wine: Infuse the cut blue lotus flowers in white wine for 24-48 hours for a relaxing, aromatic drink. Strain the flowers before serving chilled with a slice of lemon.
Blue Lotus Infused Oil: Infuse the cut flowers in a carrier oil, such as jojoba or sweet almond oil, for a calming and luxurious massage oil.
NOTE: Blue Lotus is not to be confused with Sacred Lotus (Nelumbo nucifera), as Sacred Lotus does not contain the same natural alkaloids that are found in Blue Lotus.

The product arrived quickly and was as described. I unfortunately however, was unaware of the interaction blue lotus and sertraline (anti depressants) can have. I ended up in hospital for 3 days with Seratonin syndrome, which can be fatal in extreme cases. ** Please note: this review is not to bring any negativity towards My Herb Clinic or their products. I hope this information serves to allow people to be more educated when choosing to consume substances without knowing the potential affects.
