The style and workmanship of the Tara brooch are of an early Celtic type. The original brooch is a circle of cast Silver covered with sheets of gold foil and beautifully decorated with beads, plaited wire of gold amber, and stylized with animals and spirals.
This brooch is less ornate than the original style. There is great deal of intricate pattern on the outer circle of the brooch and the base has a superb divergent-spiral or trumpet pattern embellishment.
This traditional brooch is worn ideally on the lapel of a jacket or a sweater. Definitely a piece to 'Flaunt' and perfect for the person with a passion for Irish Culture and Heritage.
