“Standard Ratcheting Winch Bar works great, the only problem is that it could use a better pin to hold it in. It's hard to get the pin out sometimes. The pin could use a handle to pull it out.”

“Was somewhat disappointed in the ratcheting bar. The longer length is a plus making it easier to get your straps tight with less effort than shorter bars but the pin is tough to get in and out. This wastes more time than just using a non ratcheting bar. The manufacturers of the bar need to pay more attention to making that pin easier to get in and out without it being so loose that it falls out. Also when the pin is pointing straight down after finishing tighting the strap it is almost to long to get out because it hits the underneath side of the trailer before clearing the hole. You really have to wiggle it and the bar at the same time to get it out wasting time and taking added effort. Also, the gears need to be finer so you have more choice where to position the bar before applying torque to the strap, on a conastoga wagon the bar is in the down position to far too be a good angle to apply torque. It won't lock in any higher because the gears are to wide ratio and the pin in the winch is to sloppy so you're starting your stroke at almost half way down and by the time you've put some tension on the strap the bar is almost pointing straight down at the ground. Last complaint, the bar is fairly heavy. I'm still using it but it could be better.”
