“I was able to set it up without too much difficulty, only having to access a second device to retrieve the necessary code. It then displayed a video stream quite quickly.
I have set it up on a post looking at our bird feeders to see how it performs. I was a little confused by the buttons below the video display, thinking they were used to set all functions instead of just a couple. Pressing the 3 lines at the top eventually allowed me to change all options. The live video stream is excellent and allows me to view the birds visiting the feeders and take images or videos of them. I was unaware of how to view videos captured by motion detection until I tried the playback button and aligned the blue stripes to obtain a video stream. It is difficult to return to a specific stream as the times are very small and could be clearer and the size of the picture on my phone is small. It is easy to take stills or videos from this stream and they can then be viewed much larger in a picture-viewing App.
I like the ability of night images using IR or colour, especially if subjects are close to the camera. I have been using the camera for about a week and the battery is holding up well so it won't have to be retrieved for recharging yet.
I have a non-WiFi trail cam and am very pleased that I bought this NatureSpy. Must just remember to put it into sleep mode when I do any gardening.

“Easy to set up and simple to use
Great night vision seeing lots of wildlife currently watching a whole bunch of bibirds sharing the feeder with the obligatory squirrels and a pair of wild parakeets!”
“Overall very good however sometimes the motion/record function stops working and we have to reset the camera.
The software has been updated but maybe there will be another update to fix the bug!”
“Set up was fairly straightforward out of the box. Image quality is good, battery life is ok considering I live in the cairngorms at it’s been quite cold, especially at night.
Sometimes experience problems retrieving live stream after the camera has been shut down for a while. The unit has also suffered from frame freezing usually resolved by switching off then back on.
Overall not a bad little camera!”
“Out of the box to setting up in the garden was a breeze! Set up near one of my hedgehog houses it was lovely to watch the comings and goings of the hogs! And the app works great with the option of watching live if you wish. Will definitely be getting another soon, thoroughly recommend!”
“I've just received this and have used it for one evening so far. I was immediately impressed by its simplicity, easy to set up with voice instructions from the camera. After purchasing a couple of 'wifi' trail cams off Amazon only to discover they weren't actually connected via 'wifi'' and I could never connect the camera to my phone, so I was delighted when I found this camera and was able to set it up straight away and everything worked as it should do. The next bonus is not having to wait until the morning, bring in your SD cards and go through footage to see what time the hogs came, here you get notifications straight to your phone and straight to the action - it's amazing being able to view what's going on at the time is it happening - live view is fantastic and I do love being able to see this on my mobile. It also comes with the SD card so no additional purchases. You can charge the camera indoors and there's no expense of buying AA batteries every few weeks. The casing is also made from rubber so it is more robust and waterproof. The playback feature is also really good as it skips through each event so you can see quickly see what you have missed if you've not been looking at your notifications and you can take a picture or record any footage and save it. I will definitely be purchasing more of these in the future so I can locate them around different parts of the garden. A very easy to use kit at a very good price. Highly recommended.”
“As a first time nature cam user, I am very impressed by the NatureSpy Wildcam 2. This is a seriously capable bit of kit. The livestream comes direct to any device that you have installed the app on, with the camera connecting to 2.4Ghz wifi. It also comes with an internal 32GB card. This was very easy to set up both physically and technically. We are now enjoying excellent bird and animal watching. There are lots of settings to play about with, which I am working through - including motion detection sensitivity, associated alerts and recording. Its great fun to look through the image captures associated with motion detection alerts!. Top tip, dont forget to turn off the status indicator light (do this in the app) - otherwise your spy cam has a glowing light that might spook the birds and beasties :). I am very much just getting started with this, but I am anticipating lots of mileage to come. Last thing - after purchase support from the NatureSpy team is great - I had a small query and had a rapid and helpful response.”
“Been waitting for the 2nd generation camera to be release after much delilberation as to which wifi wildlife camera to choose. So easy to set up. Was installed in the garden in under 5 minutes. (most of that time was me having to reset the wifi to 2.4Hz.) Very impatiently waited for night to fall, listing out for the first ping of a notfication that motion had been detect, and there it was the night time world of my garden in colour. I have a gang of vistiting hedgehogs and hoping having good photos of them I will be able to determine how many are visiting. The Colour night vision is stunning. So impressed that I'm starting to save to get a second. Tried the app in ipad and android. Both work well and I'm looking forward to future updates. Thank you for designing a great bit of kit which has no need for a seperate sim card or going out to fetch sd cards in the morning.”
