Excellent so far ( other trail cameras have failed after a few years- so let's see). Love the convenience of being able to see playback ( and record it) on my phone. Battery seems to last a long time. Great image quality at night when I use it. Only a few minor downsides - when it rains it seems to obscure the lens badly, maybe it needs a better hood? Occasionally glitches, software giving an error message but only temporarily. Wish there was a few more mounting methods the current one is rather clunky.

NatureSpy WiFi WildCam 2 Overall, the WildCam 2 has proved an excellent buy. I have filmed voles, a hedgehog, and, unfortunately, rats (which I then got rid of non-lethally). It’s more convenient to capture this via WiFi rather than having to extract and read an SD card alone. The camera includes an SD card on which it stores information. It comes with a permanent fixing that can be screwed into a wall or similar. However, I also purchased the MiniPod Stretch tripod which enables you to move the camera around to capture different areas, including wedging it into a bush. I’d recommend investing in this, otherwise you will find yourself having to balance the camera on uneven surfaces. (There are no buckle holders from which to fix a securing strap.) I have a studio at the bottom of the garden. It has a WiFi router in it. This has a wired connection to the house and uses the same name and password, so I had no set-up issues. The camera uses the studio router, so there are distance issues between the router and the camera. There is a Quick Start Guide and an Instruction Manual – you will need both, as information is spread between them. The App is very good and gives you complete control over the camera. You can save any activity you want to keep to the Gallery. From there you can send clips by email or save them to the Photos app on your phone. There are two inconveniences. First, you have to scroll along the timeline to quickly find activity hotspots, and the timeline has a tendency to snap back to the beginning of the day, meaning you have to finger-scroll through it again. Second, each time you access Playback it returns to the start of the day, so you have to scroll through to get to the time you want. Perhaps an update can include an ability to pause the scrolling in both these situations. However, these are very minor issues.

Bought this camera so that we could view hedgehogs in the garden. The camera and set up was very easy and the family was soon watching two special visitors to the garden during the darkness hours. The quality of the photos and videos is extremely good. We are mesmerised with the views and so are our grandchildren. Excellent camera and service.

The WildCam 2 camera worked well until gnawed by a fox leading to a need to replace the cowl and possibly the camera as it is now fogging up at night. The lesson learnt is do not use the small tripod stand if inquisitive foxes might be about! Find a solid object well off the ground to fix the camera to.
