I picked up a quik-clot a year or so ago and never thought I would need it, until I was out on a solo backcountry hike on Mt hood and managed to severly injure my self ith a hatchet wound to my lower leg severing an artey. I remember the Quik-clot and inserted the pack into the wound and wraping the wound up tight with a compress. it was a 10 hr hike down the mountain and another 2hrs to the clinic. it was at the 12 hr mark that it started to bleed threw the bandage. but buy then I was under a doctors care. I strongly recomend everyone have a quik-clot in there first aid kit. Could be a life saver!!!!!
