LumberMate LM30 13½hp (420cc) Briggs & Stratton electric start gas engine Reviews

4.1 Rating 12 Reviews
Was a chore getting it together but not overly complicated. Biggest challenge I had was getting it level and square. I’ve cut probably 5-6 hundred board feet of hardwoods and it’s performed well. Only thing I would change is getting the bigger motor. Well built well engineered machine.

Well, I have only cut some practice logs at this time, hardwood (Ash) and some pine. Works great so far. Trying to allocate more time to cutting the existing log pile I have, but the weather is not cooperating. The setup was not too bad. I am tweaking the settings a bit and will have the mill humming in a couple of weeks when the weather clears. First project is a post and beam kit for a pole barn or a house. Regards, Nick

The Norwood LM30 is a fantastic sawmill. It’s the perfect size, offering great speed and precision for my needs. Its portability and solid build make it a reliable and efficient choice for any sawmill professional.

My initial impression is very good. The engine started well most times. On a couple of occasions, the engine needed to be cranked for several seconds to start. The electric start is a MUST. A very nice option for shutting the engine down while repositioning the wood. There was adequate power and most of the wood that I saw was approximately 16-20" in diameter. I use 94-octane fuel to limit carburetor issues/fowling issues. I have about 20 hours of milling time on the engine so far and it has performed well to date.
