“Original mill mn27 has non adjustable roller guides, when trying to cut hardwoods these to not help as blade will wander when too much pressure is applied or depends on blade tension, either one made it difficult to accurately cut.”
“It was my first time running a saw mill, I was sawing up maple logs and was having difficulty keeping the blade from hunting up and down, I quit sawing and ordered up a set of ceramic guides( they were delivered to my door in only a couple days), the kit came with everything I needed to convert the saw over (minus the water fitting), I cut up the remaining 2000 board feet into 2”, and 1 1/8” boards with one live edge, I think I only had one incident of the blade wandering after the upgrade. I went through about six blades as a novice sawyer, the logs ended up having nails and lag screws and whatever else you can think of kids hammering into a tree over the last 50 years”
“These ceramic blade guides made a huge difference on my LM29. The cuts are more even with less blade dive. They also are much quieter than the roller guides. They are a bit pricey, but so far I am please with the improvement they have made. The only reason I don't give the 5 star rating is the price.”
