“I purchased a pair of the men's Ohana Lace Up Nubuck Dark Java in early 2018. I actually really broke them in a few months later on the Big Island in March while on some volcanology educational outreach with the NASA & JHUAPL New Horizons Pluto & Kuiper Belt mission. We were the last film crew at Kilauea a couple weeks before the most recent large eruption.
The Ohana are some of the most comfortable shoes I have ever had. However, the leather part of the soles are finally wearing out. I had also seen that they were discontinued a few years ago. I also have a couple pairs of their leather sneakers and a pair of leather flip-flops.
I reached out to Olu Kai to see if they have ever considered bringing them back?
Well, though their warranty states 1 year, the great people of Olu Kai offered me $130 warranty to anything else that I might want after 6 years! The Moloa is just like the Ohana, but are slip-on and I inquired about them? They are $140 a pair and I offered to cover the difference or pay even more because I really wanted something like the Ohana.
Olu Kai said, "we'll send you the Moloa as a warranty replacement for no charge"! I received them and my goodness, they are as comfortable as the Ohana and are a new favorite. Not only do I suggest the Moloa slip-on shoe, but a company who not only stands firmly behind their products, but even more importantly, their customers is a keeper. I am an Olu Kai fan for life!”
“A nice alternative to the sheepskin-lined Moloa slipper, especially during the warmer months - it’s essentially the same shoe but with a better sole and no sheepskin padding.”
