“I returned these, but they keep sending emails asking for reviews anyway, so why not.
After reading my card, peppered with native Hawaiian phrases, spelling Hawaii like "Hauai'i" and all that nonsense, I started to suspect this company was run by a couple middle-aged white dudes. Turns out I was right. The founders' info is available on their website. There's a Crunchbase article for their company with links to their pics and short bios with some demographic information.
Demographic information like the fact that while one of the founders - Bill Worthington - was born in Hawaii, he now lives in Oregon. And his co-founder, Matt Till, lives in California. Both white as the driven snow without a hint of native Hawaiian blood.
Anyway, the sandals pulled to the right so I felt like I was always walking on the left edge of the sandal. So even without feeling like a scumbag wearing products shilled by profiteering financial colonizers, I probably would have returned them anyway. This company is trash.”
