“My first pair of [Moloa] Okulai shoes were purchased "like new" on eBay. I had never heard of them before but I liked the unique design of having a fold-down heel. They surpassed my expectations and I wore them out ... sadly placed them in the trash bin last week. So off to REI I went to see if I could find a replacement pair. I found a pair of Nohea Moku in my size and left the store with them under my arm (to be clear, paid for). Here is why, after 3 days, I love these shoes:
- Same fold-down heel design. I use them both up (for fancy events) and down (when I'm just running errands or in the house)
- Laces. Well, they're not really laces but the elastics on the front give the illusion that I have laces. I have , for year, worn clogs, slip-ons, and mules ... it feels nice to look like a grown man wearing shoes that I lace.
- Mesh upper. I was initially not pleased with this concept but have realized that, as a guy with kinda sweaty feet, this could be a game-changer. I went out to eat last night, sat in the heat of the day, normally my feet would have become wet with sweat. Nope, dry and comfortable. I'm looking forward to more testing but I love this already. And they don't look as "meshy" as I thought they would.”

“The only thing I don’t like about this shoe is it’s the middle of winter here and I can’t wear them often enough! This brand never disappoints the shoe fits perfectly and is as solid as it gets!!!! The toe runs wide which is great for me as that’s how I prefer my fit. This also keeps the size true.”
